This vibrant yellow Modernist painting features a bouquet of vivid magenta, strawberry red, and deep fuchsia pink petaled poppies in a repurposed Morton’s Table Salt container. I cut the top off of the container and popped a ball jar into it so that it could contain both blossoms and their necessary water. The salt container is such a classic design, with its little girl in her yellow raincoat demonstrating how even dampened, Morton’s salt runs. The deep prussian blue of the vase is offset by the sunny and vibrant yellow of the background and by the vivid pinks and reds and greens of the bouquet.
